Iranians have an old tradition of spending Farvardin 13th (the first month in Persian Calendar) out in nature. More about Sizdeh Bedar

Looks like a nice atmosphere! maybe similar to the Japanese 'hanami'...?

@Daroru: I know a little about hanami, but it's pretty much like that. Sizdeh bedar (means going out on 13th) is always on a certain date and can be called family day in nature.

@DTW: Yeah, everything. Better to say, nothing is open. This is one of the biggest gatherings I saw around the world. Almost everyone in the country and even all those who live in other parts of the world do so on this day.
