Tehran From Far Away

I took this one last weekend while camping with friends a few kilometers away from the city.
This is Tehran, down the glorious mountains of Alborz, and under a blue sky we hardly see these days. This is the city I was born, and lived my whole life in. And this is the view I want to remember in my dreams, once we destroy it with our own hands.

@Paul: Thanks Paul. I'm planning to do more shots of Tehran in the near future. The city is quite a mystery due to lack of pictures published.

You know Behrooz? That line on the map is fading! This could be here in Alberta with the snow capped mountains and city below. It's a marvelous sight and thank you so much for sharing it!! ;-)

@amy: Thanks Amy. I'm so glad. That line has never meant anything to me.
Tehran is a city of all seasons. The gentle breeze and rain in springs, 40^C impossibly hot summer, windy falls and cold winters. But the pollution is a very serious matter here. I wish we still had the old city, but we can't.
By the way, I'm gonna do some more shots of the city soon. Come back again.

This beautiful sky is rare for Tehran. What I remember is a grey fog over the city amost all the year. :(

This is a beautiful shot of Tehran. I had no idea that it was close to beautiful mountains. The scenery is spectacular! Amy is right, it could be a city in the foothils of Alberta, or one of the towns below the coastal mountains of British Columbia. Hope it stands forever Behrooz. :)

Tehran looks like it is a beautiful city and a beautiful and most ancient place - one of the cradles of civilization - I hope it doesn't come to what you say - keep taking photos of it!
